Save your dignity and your time. See more Mimi H @RT44081477 Jun 24 Before I Fall is one of the most pointless, emotionally manipulative movies I have watched in a long time. It tries so hard to be deep, profound, and meaningful, but by the end, it feels like the writers confused tragedy with substance. The entire story builds toward the idea that Sam needs to "become who she is," take accountability, stop being cruel, and break away from the shallow, mean-girl version of herself. Fine. That could have worked. But instead of giving her an ending where she actually has to live with her growth, repair the damage she helped cause, defend Juliet, leave her toxic friend group, and become a better person in a real way, the movie takes the laziest possible route: a dramatic sacrifice that makes no practical or emotional sense. There were better options for the ending, like say, they both live and become friends, and Sam is with Kent. That would have made more sense than the trash ending we are left with. A complete waste of time. See more azeem H @Azeem1 Jun 19 You know a film is ground breaking when it has many imitators. Before I fall, is just another version of Groundhog Day. Before I fall is actually fairly well made it offers a mini-twist similar to the one used at the end of The Terminator. So already it has used the template from two genre defining films. The film itself is a solid watch the direction is fine without being memorable however it is the actors who are really good, Zoey Deutch has gone onto become a reliable indie and comedy actress, not quite a star in the way her mum Leah Thompson became in the 80s, but Deutch is always highly watchable. Simply put this is solid a film and passes the time.
