Emily is the root cause of two devastating tragedies very early in her life. She feels the weight of these accidents like a curse has been placed upon her. Her dad suggests she go to a Camp for troubled youth to ease her guilt; she can be a counsellor there. When Emily arrives, she is taken in by the other counselors, they accept her as she is and wrap her in a veil of peace and forgiveness. Emily stands at the forefront of a new kind of life, but there's a voice out there in the woods she can't quite seem to ignore. The voice is whispering, she's telling Emily to go home.

This movie was terrible, and I’m tired of being duped by industry critics when I see a good score on Apple TV. As I continued through the movie, I wondered when anything was going to happen. We see the girl is obviously dealing with trauma, and she goes to camp, where a bunch of crazzzzzy kids just talk nonsense through the entire movie. I get Fast was trying to maybe make an artsy folk horror movie. It doesn’t land. And I hate giving bad reviews, but when I pay for something, I at least expect it to live up to the hype.

CAMP is probably closer to Girl, Interrupted than The Craft, but thats ok! It's a fantastic sophomore feature from Avalon Fast, and I can't wait to see more of their work.

This starts out good but eventually this "The Craft" rip-off gone existential becomes a pretentious bore that has no focus. The lead character is interesting but the other characters are lifeless.

What happened to Eden? What happened to Dan? The kids leave, and the counselors can just stay at the camp? Are there consequences to the sacrifices? Be prepared for a heavy-weighted tone, with some good performances in a flawed but ambitious script.
