A group of U.S. Navy engineers, led by Capt. Laidlaw (Taurean Blacque), are building an underwater base when they inadvertently disturb the lair of a gigantic creature. The monster attacks, and the crew, including lovers Collins (Nancy Everhard) and McBride (Greg Evigan), tries to evacuate, but the facility is badly damaged. After the exterior is breached, the increasingly desperate people become separated from one another, and the creature begins to pick them off one by one.

There are, in short, no human relationships aboard "Deep Star Six": just frequent frantic cries of "Mayday!" and special effects that bubble and gurgle a lot but never produce a single quiver of genuine terror.

Not a perfect movie, but as someone researching for a story set underwater, it is an interesting enough plot. The crew are a few days away from leaving the station and are getting anxious to leave. That is until the ocean floor collapses and a cave is exposed near the underwater missile launcher. The launcher is the reason they are on this months log mission. It was designed and built by the eager scientist who is also a crew member. Soon after this undiscovered cave opens, strange things begin to happen. Not Lovecraftian, but it is a tense film with some unintended comedy from Miguel Ferrer's character constantly making the wrong decisions. Give it a try with some friends and I think you will have a good time.

for me is worth to watch, this movie besides being inspired in The Thing 1982, it has solid acting and a better story than Leviathan but its still has its errors and mistakes. 8/10
