Occasionally the film gets a little too caught up in its own adorableness...but for the most part “Finding Emily” is just quirky enough, with a lovely sense of place and a few effective nods to “When Harry Met Sally …” for the rom-com completists.

There is something so punk rock about a movie that so earnestly wears its heart on its sleeve, that sticks to the formula but still manages to be about something, about characters who feel real even amidst the oversized premise.
