Hancock and his cast effectively convey the essence of King’s story, which is about a well-meaning kid learning how anything that comes too easy likely has dark strings attached. Go to Full Review

Some may not go with this veering plot, but those who love Stephen King will enjoy the leap into speculative fiction. It’s what made him famous -- that ability to see how a little dark fantasy can illuminate the world. Go to Full Review

The movie is extremely faithful to the novella for better or worse, but director John Lee Hancock makes several minor changes that deepen the themes and create a perfect horror movie for the Autumn season. Go to Full Review

While Hancock’s script has a lot on his mind and the ideas become frayed with the second and third act unfolding sporadically, there’s something hauntingly restrained about this horror/thriller hybrid. Go to Full Review

...Mr Harrigan’s Phone is an ok watch this October if you’re stuck for ideas. It does deliver some good chilling moments and while the film shows potential overall, by the end you’ll find yourself realizing the concept was heavily underutilized. Go to Full Review

Misti H. @MisticMist 1h Wasn't very climatic. I was waiting for something good to happen. However, it wasnt all that bad either. If I would have read the book I would assume that its better than this film. This film is a watch only once kind of film. See more Grace M @Watcher230 Feb 12 This is one of the best-constructed movies I’ve seen in a long, long time. There is no word, action, background, gesture, or facial expression that is without purpose. If you are a fan of horror that starts at creepiness, then slowly, steadily ratchets up to paralyzing terror and despair, this one is for you. But beyond that, the story has a powerful message, leaving us much to think about and wrestle with as it applies to us. And, as Stephen King so often does, it leaves us with a few unanswered questions to haunt us in the dark of a sleepless night. See more James E @JamesE167 Nov 5 This is surprisingly wholesome in a creepy kind of way and leaves you feeling saddened but not hopeless. The acting is surprisingly good across the board.
