Aaron Eckhart gives a committed performance emotionally, but his police work and gun handling can feel awkward and unrealistic. The direction keeps the pacing steady, and the action scenes are handled well enough to stay engaging. The dogs are a major highlight and add authenticity. While the film has flaws in tone and balance, it remains a solid one-time watch with heartfelt moments and enough tension to hold your attention.
