When attempting to make a movie about a prize nincompoop then it helps if you aren't even more conspicuously dim than your protagonist. Yet on the evidence of The Pink Panther 2, it looks as though there were bumbling nitwits on both sides of the camera.

O famoso ladrão Tornado rouba os maiores tesouros de vários países, entre eles o diamante Pantera Cor de Rosa. Os países decidem montar um grupo dos seus melhores detetives e Clouseau é chamado para participar dele. Interessante! Gostei mais desse filme do que anterior nessa fase do Steven Martin como Clouseau. As sequências onde ele toma aulas de politicamente correto com Lily Tomlin são muito engraçadas. Acho que o filme perdeu com a saída de Kevin Kline como Dreyfus. Escalaram o John Cleese que transformou o personagem em um gentleman britânico, soando um pouco fora do tom. Além de continuarem com Jean Reno e Emily Mortimer nos mesmos papéis, a entrada de Andy Garcia, Alfred Molina e Yuki Matsuzaki como os integrantes do time dos grandes detetives mundiais serviu bem como um contraponto a Clouseau. Por fim, uma boa comédia que poderia indicar um novo caminho para a franquia mas que se encerrou aqui.

Wonderful silliness wrapped into a creative and entertaining, briskly paced story. It remains puzzling why the film has been rated so poorly by both critics and audiences. It says Steve Martin on the label, and it is Steve Martin inside. Peter Sellers would surely have felt thoroughly entertained by a "successor" that effortlessly taps into the comedic spirit of the original films.

I really love this series. It's unfortunate that Steve Martin didn't keep making more. Bright, happy, family-friendly comedies that are actually funny are in short supply in Hollywood these days.

Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom
