This is one of those horror films that started out strong by creative confidence over the rest of the flimsily muddled picture instantly downgrading with wooden performances and uneventfully outrageous plot. Here, the scares feel mechanical, repetitive variations on exorcism tropes we've seen executed with far more skill elsewhere.
