10/10 What an amazing portrait of Dean, his work and the Downtown scene in NYC. The original footage is exceptional and the story is told with interviews of people that were there at the time. This is the greatest way it could have been done. I went to see it twice.

An unforgettable documentary about someone the world needs to know about. Dean Johnson was a queer vanguard whose story is equal parts inspiring, jaw dropping, hilarious, and heartbreaking. This film really captured New York’s downtown scene with grit and magic too. A must-watch film.
