Stephen Sommers took the fun spirit of The Mummy and crafted a spectacular tribute to classic Universal monsters, wrapped in an addictive gothic atmosphere.Hugh Jackman is perfect as the ultimate action hero, balancing mysterious charm with physical brutality. His chemistry with the relentless Kate Beckinsale is instant, while Richard Roxburgh’s Dracula is wonderfully theatrical and memorable.The pacing is relentless, and Transylvania looks beautifully dark and stylized. Alan Silvestri’s thunderous musical score elevates every scene to an epic level. Because of how messy it gets with the action and the special effects. I would say it turns out to be a pretty forgettable film overall. See more Thomas P @Tinuva Jun 22 I do recommend it, with some heavy sidenotes. This is not a movie for you if you are deeply invested in character development. Nor is it a movie for you if you want the movie to make sense and not lean to much on plotarmour. For alot of aspects come togheter just way to easy in the movie. If you are willing to set that all aside, it is a very enjoyable movie. The attention to costume, decor and overall gothic, romanian vampire vibe are very strong and I find the performance of the actors to be pretty strong as well. The music in the movie is definitly worth it. It is not a movie that will make you question things in life, but it is a movie that -for the vampire enthousiast & 19th century mythical figures- is very enjoyable. Especially compared to todays movies I find that it redeems itself, yes, there is alot of CGI, alot of fight scenes and some forced romance.But the CGI kinda holds up and the fights scenes are not endlessly drawn out and I really appriciate the ending. The movie is packed with action, adventure, and some impressive monster battles. I liked how Van Helsing travels to stop Dracula while facing werewolves, vampires, and other creatures along the way. The visual effects were exciting for its time, and the story kept me interested from beginning to end. While some parts felt a little over-the-top, the movie was still fun and entertaining. If you enjoy fantasy, action, and classic monster stories, I would definitely recommend watching *Van Helsing*. I would rate it 8/10. See more Read all reviews
