The story is formulaic, and the supporting cast often veers into campy amateurism, but the inventive creature effects, strong leads, and gleefully twisted wish-fulfillment premise make it an entertaining slice of '90s horror. Robert haglund is in this particular movie as is Richard Assad Jake McKinnon Greg frank anguish Skyrim and others. This premise of the movie is about the wishmaster giving wishes to random people in exchange for their souls. Lots of great action and seeing lots of gore everything you would expect in a horror movie. This is definitely one that I had overlooked and I’m glad that I found it and I’m gonna continue and watch all four wishmaster movies. Not as bad as some claim, yet nowhere near as underrated as others insist—it’s firmly middle‑of‑the‑pack. Wes Craven’s hand is obvious, turning this into more of a dark comedy than true horror, very much in the Nightmare on Elm Street vein. The Djinn, who should be menacing, feels underdeveloped and never truly frightening. Scenes like statues coming to life end up feeling absurd rather than scary. Robert Englund’s appearance seems more like a gimmick than a meaningful addition. The screenplay is inconsistent, dialogue clunky, and the characters are minimally developed, making it hard to engage with the story. While the director uses lighting and editing creatively, it can’t save the film. It may appeal to 90s horror fans seeking campy, cult nostalgia, but for most viewers, it’s shallow, unscary, and not worth rewatching. See more Read all reviews
