The real stars of the film are [Steve] Carell and [Tina] Fey for bringing such goofy conviction to this goofball comedy, much better than the director's previous attempts at broad humour in the two Night at the Museum films.

Date Night surprised me with how much fun it is. It is silly, over the top, and funny throughout. A boring couple stuck in a marriage rut wants to spice things up by going on a fancy date in the city. They take a reservation that doesn't belong to them and things go off the rails for them which truly spices up their night and life to a point that they just want to go back to their boring and loving life.

For someone who Never laughs at movies I laughed quite a few times. Really some silly lines which I like, silly that is. Plus great actors. The story line is beside the point, but it actually has one. Just enjoy the nonsense, forget your troubles, laugh.

ugh. Tina Fey seems great when writing for TV but falters mightily when it comes to the big screen. This movie blows. Its not funny, I didn't even laugh once, and the premise is contrived and predictable. Carrel, who I love= phoned this one in. He had the energy and enthusiasm of a man wondering what he is still doing making movies, lol. Even on a night when you are bored out of your mind and starved for entertainment, I suggest getting a tray of ice cubes, if you still freeze your own, and watching them melt.
