Although the film's stunning reveals make the audience realise it has been duped... there is a protagonist to empathise with each time. Go to Full Review

It's quite a movie -- atmospheric, obsessive, almost satanic. Go to Full Review

An example of old-fashioned storytelling, the kind of magical movie that could have been made fifty years ago and, consequently, will still be watched fifty years from now. Go to Full Review

Plus one of Jackman’s early conceits revealed what a good actor he can be, and we forget because of the body. He actually manages to seem like a different person and almost change the structure of his face in one early scene w Go to Full Review

Nolan constructs a fascinating tale that twists and turns at every opportunity, although there is perhaps one twist too many in a slightly overbaked dénouement. Go to Full Review

Nolan looks at how obsession can drive you beyond your limit and destroy everything, even when the simple answer is right in front of you. In the process, he … intentionally crafts an allegory of filmmaking itself. Go to Full Review

MBI M @MNZGamerX 18h An engrossing story about obsession and how it can cloud all reason and there some stunning plot twists, some that you see coming from a mile off but that is a cover for the real twist ... Superb acting by Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale, Michael Cane and it even has David Bowie ... While the main characters are difficult to sympathize with as they pursue their obsessive vendetta against each other it is interesting how they justify to themselves as they sacrifice those they love to get their win over their rival ... See more din D @L1J2K3 2d The movie up until the end felt like a little too much and a little by the books. While the ending itself I thought wrapped the film in a nice bow and was well executed. The rest of the movie was a little boring and a little much. It felt like a popcorn movie trying to be more, and up until the end is wasn't much more. See more Khikmatillo R @Khikmatillo 5d Nolan perfectly shows how obsession can make some people go beyond the limits and the movie is about the competition of 2 magicians and movie itself is a magic trick, if you miss a specific moment, u do not understand the trick and that is the part where many people miss some part. So, absolutely must-watch movie See more rex W @RT11010153 6d Christopher Nolan's films are always so overwritten, non-linear, and busy. There is too much going on for me to involve myself enough to care. I feared there would be an unrealistic twist at the end (I was right)/ I also suspected some of the other strange happenings along the way (I was right about those, too). Nolan tries too hard, which makes his films unnecessarily stressful to watch. See more Joanne H @RT85208661 Mar 31 I watched this film when it first came out and I have just watched it again. It’s still a really great film with great characters and plot See more Allison W. @Allison.rates.for.real Mar 1 Good movie for sure, worth the watch. Guessed the loop hole half way through the movie, could’ve written it lowkey See more Read all reviews
