In 1988, her mother has a stroke and Aung San Suu Kyi leaves her husband Michael Aris and her two sons Kim and Alexander in Oxford to see her. She sees the massacre of civilian by the military and her friends summon her to be their leader. They form the National League of Democracy and win the elections, but the military do not accept and arrest her supporters. They also do not allow her family to visit her. In 1991, she is awarded by the Novel Peace Prize in Norway. "The Lady" (2011) is a film directed by Luc Besson based on the true story of the activist Aung San Suu Kyi. The plot depict Suu as a naive woman that choses her country over her family. David Thewlis steals the show, perfoming also his brother Anthony. My vote is eight.
