Superheroes are often as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians, and sometimes even as revered as gods. But that's when they're using their powers for good. What happens when the heroes go rogue and start abusing their powers? When it's the powerless against the super powerful, the Boys head out on a heroic quest to expose the truth about the Seven and Vought, the multibillion-dollar conglomerate that manages the superheroes and covers up their dirty secrets. Based on the comic book series of the same name.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

The Boys stays true to its form and completes its mission with ample panache, narrative pay-off, and an excess of blood and guts to deviously glorious effect.

While the political satire doesn’t always land, diabolism prevails -- The Boys will be The Boys.

The Boys’ latest comeback is proving to be promising, though, in a way that bodes well for the conclusion of a series that once felt profane, fresh, and exciting. Go to Full Review

The show’s fifth and final season has a familiar structure... But it stays strong – there’s even more gore and screw-loose social media commentary. Go to Full Review

The greatest existential threat in the show's final season turns out to be reality itself. Go to Full Review

With earlier seasons, most of this sardonic imagery felt exaggerated enough to come off as political satire. But in this final season, the material has unfortunately aged like fine wine, much to the chagrin of Kripke’s razor sharp wit. Go to Full Review

The meandering final season doesn’t negate what The Boys as a whole accomplished. This gory, bloody mess has heart, and it’s justifiably angry and ready to beat you over the head with its messaging. Go to Full Review

The final episode sends the show out on a surprisingly good note, but considering how little everything else even resembles a dramatic endgame, that’s not quite enough for me to say the season works as a whole. Go to Full Review

khaled A @Ammous96 21h 10/10. The Boys delivered a finale that felt intense, emotional, and completely earned. It stayed true to the tone of the show without relying on cheap shock value or betraying the story just to surprise the audience. What I loved most is that the ending respected the journey of the characters and gave the series a conclusion that felt meaningful, brutal, heartbreaking, and satisfying all at once. It was an emotional roller coaster, but in the best way. I honestly do not understand the backlash. For me, this was one of the strongest finales I have seen, and a perfect ending to one of the wildest and most memorable shows ever made. See more @RT07494229 1d Extremely disrespectful to the Prophet Muhammad and offensive to millions of Muslim viewers. Unacceptable behavior from the writers ، ، See more Kairu S @RT12875607 1d The Boys was a favorite due to it subverting expectations and marvel tropes but the last two seasons were a big disappointment. This last season could have had so much happen, so much that was hinted at, even promos for the last season... but we got a flat end that felt like a rush to just end it. So sad to see a chance to make a legendary ending wasted on what we got. See more max L @xcosterx 1d I thought it was a decent ending. Not as bad as some peopel say See more Juan Pablo E @jpestrada 1d I think it was a satisfying end to the series. It maintained the values and depth of each character throughout the series and right to the end. Would kot have expected a "mega happy ending" all around, it would have felt off. The whole season was exitign to watch and the end was appropriate and although you are left with a feeling of something missing, I think is intentional and again appropriate. Definitely worth watching. The prequel seems like it's gonna be great. See more N T @RT47874228 1d "When a writer lacks the talent and professionalism required to create meaningful work, he often falls back on pushing his own agenda and forcing it into his projects. In doing so, he may choose to disrespect a particular religion without giving any thought to the consequences or the impact of his actions. This writer has clearly failed to understand the implications of what he is presenting to his audience. Rather than offering creativity or substance, he relies on provocation and shallow ideas. Congratulations to the writer on his failure and the complete bankruptcy of his imagination." See more Read all reviews
