This film certainly is funny, yes, this is a good comedy film but not the best slasher film. It's the black sheep of the Friday series, everyone considers Jason Goes to Hell as it's not really a slasher per se but this is what I consider to be such. While Jason Voorhees is an undeniably iconic slasher, the films surrounding him are largely bland and repetitive, and this installment doesn’t fully escape that problem. The screenplay is scattered and unfocused, existing mostly to string together kill scenes rather than build a meaningful story. Even if this film is more tolerable than some entries, it still follows the same tired formula: new characters arrive, get murdered, and are quickly forgotten. There’s little narrative cohesion beyond that cycle. A major weakness of the franchise remains its lack of lasting characters. Jason is the only constant, and even he wasn’t the original driving force of the story. Each film resets with new survivors, making it hard to invest emotionally.
