Blake- N @RT32589154 6d I thought License to Wed was absolutely awful. It tries to be a romantic comedy, but the humor is crude, repetitive, and rarely funny. The characters are unlikable and over-the-top, making it hard to care about anything that happens. Robin Williams does what he can, but the script is so poorly written that even his comedic talent can’t save it. The plot is predictable, the pacing is uneven, and the gags feel forced. Overall, I’d give it a 1/10—it’s easily one of the worst comedies I’ve seen, frustrating, annoying, and painfully forgettable. Was so excited when I saw the unseen Williams flick. John Krazinski is the only decent thing in this flick. Robin Williams brings his usual chaotic energy, and while some of the humour is definitely over-the-top, there are a few genuinely funny and unexpectedly sweet moments tucked in. The premise is a bit ridiculous — pre-marriage bootcamp led by an unorthodox minister — but it sets up enough awkward situations and heartwarming resolutions to keep it engaging. Mandy Moore and John Krasinski have decent chemistry, and even when the plot stretches believability, the cast keeps it grounded. It’s not a film I’d rewatch regularly, but for a light, silly rom-com with some unexpected laughs, it’s worth a watch.
