Jennifer Jones' glacial charm as a prim small-town school teacher somehow eludes me. Go to Full Review

Drew M @RT55869636 Aug 17 In the current culture of the exposure of the history of the education system it just seems irrelevant. The indentured brainwashing of a construct simulation, controlled by the cabal of religion and elite industrial complex is almost comical. Humanity is finally waking up in 2025. See more Ted B @Movieaddicted 02/15/2025 3.5 stars; This film falls under the category of "they don't make them like this anymore." This film takes you back to the time in which it was made (1955). Life was simpler, people were more important, and what one did was more important than what one said. Jennifer Jones is very good as a small-town grammar school teacher. By adding her structure to the lives of some undisciplined young children, she not only educates them but gives them a foundation that they carry through life. She is apparently unaware of the vast impact she has had on her students until she falls ill later in life and is supported by the whole town. This film previewed a number of actors who would move on to career roles in the 1960s TV world, such as Robert Stack, Chuck Connors, Jerry Paris, Richard Deacon, Ken Osmand, Sarah Selby, Herb Vigran, etc. See more Victor T @VictorTalkingMachine 08/04/2023 Lovely to look at this CinemaScope production, but sorry it's about as boring as they come. I usually love all Jennifer Jones' movies, but not this one. She's woefully miscast as the town's sole schoolteacher. See more 07/13/2020 Jennifer Jones does an excellent job aging from 21 to 56. The movie could have easily become maudlin but, instead, tells the story with charm without feeling you are being manipulated. I'm not sure that there was another Hollywood actress, at the time, that could have pulled it off. She still had some of the "shine" from the role of St Bernadette from "A Song of Bernadette." See more 02/01/2020 As usual, Jennifer Jones' talent is wasted in this long borefest. Robert stack manages with what he has. See more ashley h @ashleyhobgood87 12/27/2019 Good Morning, Miss Dove is a decent film. It is about Miss Dove is a strict disciplinary, plus a well respected teacher. Jennifer Jones and Robert Stack give okay performances. The screenplay is a little slow in places. Henry Koster did an alright job directing this movie. I liked this motion picture because of the drama. See more Read all reviews
