Logan D @Greynomad38 Dec 2 When a doll named Buttercup is kidnapped by minions of the Head of State, her friends, a marionette, a teddy bear, and the indescribable Laurent, set out to rescue her. A hero's journey with an ensemble of odd characters with a lot of emotional warmth. Every character was created from salvaged items. I loved using pillows as clouds and sheets as a flood. It is for children and has a simple plot. What really irked me were the dubbed voices that sounded like amateurs trying to vocalize children's characters. It felt like the actors were disrespecting their audience. Still, one of the best stop motion animation I've ever seen. See more Cindy H @RT84279527 06/28/2022 its interesting, but really weird. the movie starts out seeming like a fun innocent story but it gets creepy fast. some parts slow down a bit then pick up then slow again. i think a movie like this is still worth watching at least once, but once is all you need. also the ending with the pocket watch is nightmare fuel. Beautifully animated and funny as hell, its what you'd expect Toy Story would be like if they decided to make it in somebodies acttic. Worth seeking out. See more 03/14/2010 Pas besoin de s'appeler Burton ou de faire partie d'Hollywood pour réaliser des films pour adultes et enfants réussis. L'oeuvre de Barta est très simple sur le fond: une princesse est enlevée par un méchant prince d'un autre monde. Ses amis vont tenter de la sauver. Toute l'action se passe dans un grenier et je peux vous jurer que Barta y a mis du sien en terme de créativité et d'ingéniosité. Je me suis pris rapidement au jeu, on ne s'ennuie presque jamais, il y a parfois quelques longueurs mais rien de grave. J'étais très craintif sur le fait que ce soit des marionnettes (pas trop mon truc) mais ça fonctionne en fait super bien. L'humour est présent aussi (j'ai même entendu plus souvent les adultes que les enfants rire), le rythme est très bien mené (coup de chapeau sur la musique qui est une partie importante du film) et je ne peux que vous conseiller de découvrir ce petit film d'animation tchèque.
